Demonstrating the Importance of Agile Open Data Frameworks by Examining the Use Case of MSMEs

May 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This Webinar seeks to explore the role of Open Data to future financial inclusion and increase access for SMEs and MSMEs to financial services that support them in conduction cross-border trade. The discussions will be used as a base when the Open Data working group is updating the 2023 Guiding Principles for Open Data frameworks to be presented to the ABAC late June.

EPAA Hypothesis Open Data

1. Critical and necessary regulation frameworks like Fraud, AML and CTF slow down and sometimes prevent regulated organizations from conducting cross-border trade with MSME.

2. The friction in cross-border trade could be overcome by access to trusted organization identifiers.

3. Organization Identifiers can be built and made stronger by the use of “open data”

Final Question

If the above is true, how do Open Data Frameworks need to be designed to support MSME access to cross-border payments and to provide digital identifiers to build trust with global organizations?
